Easy Rainbow Name Craft and Game for Preschoolers

This Rainbow Name Craft combines movement, creativity, and name recognition practice in one exciting activity. Kids will search for their name strips hidden around the room, reinforcing letter recognition and spelling as they go. Once all the pieces are collected, they’ll bring them to the art center to create a colorful rainbow craft to display!

Getting Ready for Rainbow Name Craft Fun

Materials Needed:

• Cardstock or construction paper in rainbow colors
• Large white paper
• A ruler
• Scissors
• A black marker
• Glue
• Ribbon or string (for displaying the final project)

Before the class arrives, measure the cardstock into one-inch vertical strips. Cut enough so that every student gets one strip of each color. Write the children’s names on the strip and then hide them around the room.

When the children arrive, invite them to draw a large cloud shape on a piece of white paper and write their name in the center. Start by asking them to find the red strip with their name on it and bring it back to their cloud. After everyone adds their red strip, it’s time to search for the next color. Continue until all six name strips have been collected.
