#1 Sweet Hearts by Jan Carr

Favorite Valentine Books for Preschool

In this sweet rhyming book, the little panda makes special hearts and hides them all around the house for her family to find. This book also comes in a CD form that students love to listen to!

#2 Slugs in Love by Susan Pearson

Favorite Valentine Books for Preschool

A favorite of many children, this cute story is of a shy slug named Mary Lou. She writes mysterious love notes (in slime all over the garden) to her love interest, Herbie. Children think this is so funny!

#3 Mouse’s First Valentine by Lauren Thompson

Mouse watches his big sister Minka make him a special Valentine using paper, paste, ribbon, and lace. All of the “Mouse’s First” books are great and this one is no exception!

#4 Big Shark’s Valentine Surprise by Steve Metzger

Poor Chomp has a really hard time making friends in his new neighborhood on Valentine’s Day. None of the other fish seem to appreciate his big, toothy smile and friendly disposition. Start a great discussion after the story asking if the students would be friends with Chomp!

#5 Roses are Pink, Your Feet Really Stink by Diane de Groat

This is another series enjoyed by many, but may be geared more to the older Pre-K and early elementary students. Gilbert writes Valentines for all of his classmates, but two of them are not very nice. His little prank almost gets him into big trouble!
