Play to Learn Preschool
Slime is magical, wonderful substance.  We made Christmas slime in December that turned into brown mud slime!  So in January we decided to try again and make blue slime.
The basic slime recipe calls for equal parts liquid starch, white glue and water.  We used 1 cup of each and added a few drops of blue food coloring.

The slime center was a popular one, so we had pairs of students working together to make the batches.  They just mix the glue and water (and food coloring) and then stir in the starch.  It changes quickly right before their eyes.

For some different texture, we mixed in pony beads.  It was a mess!  They did not stick well to the slime and there were beads bouncing all over the floor.  Don’t be like me; don’t add beads!

Slime is strong, stretchy, and remarkably easy to clean up.  It’s on our top 10 list of sensory play recipes!

Have fun playing and learning with your children today!
