Christmas Slime

Have you ever made slime?  It is so easy, so intriguing, and absolutely SO MUCH FUN!

We love slime as an alternative to play dough and oobleck. The colors mix well so it also gives us a chance to explore color theory.

There are 3 simple ingredients: white glue, water and liquid starch.
Add them into a bowl in equal amount.  We used 1 bottle of glue, then filled the same bottle with water, and again with the starch.

Now, liquid starch can be a little tricky to find.  The word on the street is that it’s available at Wal-Mart.  You can also order it online.  I am able to find it in the laundry section of my grocery store.  (Kudos to Wegmans for being awesome!)

To make it “Christmas” slime, we dyed one bowl green, one bowl red, and left the last bowl white.

It is so stretchy and cool!

Now, of course it didn’t take long before the kiddos started to mix the colors.

They rolled them, and squished them.

And, before long, our beautiful Christmas slime turned into mud slime!  Yes, red and green mixed together make brown.  How festive!  😉
I hope that you have a wonderful holiday with your family!
