These winter counting mats are a fun and quick way to practice counting and identifying sets. Perfect for centers and independent exploration, number mats help young children develop a strong number sense. Confidence with numbers is an important foundation for early math skills.

For each winter counting mat set, there are 20 mats. To set up the center, add a bowl full of thematic counters, for example, sparkly snowflakes in January. The students count the number of snowflakes to match the number on the mat.

This set also contains themed cards. Each card shows a number in a different way: dice, fingers, tens frames, tallies, unifix cubes, and more. Placing the cards in sensory bin material adds a fun seek-and-find element. The students sort through and find the four that belong on each number mat.
