Spring is here, and today we’re learning about rain showers and how they help the world grow! We’ll teach the ASL sign for rain, practice rhyming with a fun poem, and sing the “Springtime” song. Your preschooler will enjoy the story Raindrop, Plop! and get hands-on with a rain and cloud experiment to see how rain forms. It’s a fun, interactive way to explore spring and the magic of rain!

Today, we’re learning all about flowers! We’ll start by looking at real flowers and photos, and teach the ASL sign for flower. Your preschooler will love practicing addition with our flower garden math activity and playing the fun “Little Seed” carpet game to work on number identification. We’ll also read the sweet story Lola Plants a Garden and wrap up with a creative loose parts garden project using playdough and craft materials. It’s a great way to explore flowers, practice math, and get hands-on with creative play!

Discover the beauty of butterflies with colorful photos and learn the ASL sign for butterfly. Talk through the butterfly life cycle using picture cards. Enjoy the Butterfly Surprise poem to spark creativity. Build logical thinking with the Butterfly grid game. Read Waiting for Wings by Lois Ehlert. For the home project, make symmetrical butterflies with cardstock, paint, and scissors.
eggs in a nest
Explore the world of birds with photos of eggs in nests and a real nest to examine while learning the ASL sign for egg. Sort animals by whether they lay eggs or not. Enjoy the “Two Little Robins” fingerplay for rhyming practice. Play the “Song Birds” carpet game to identify colors. Read The Runaway Egg by Katy Hudson. For the home project, build nature nests with playdough, twigs, leaves, straw, grass, and pinecones.
bunny time
Celebrate Bunny Time with photos of adorable bunnies and learn the ASL sign for bunny. Sing the “Bunny Hop” counting song on the flannel board to practice numbers. Strengthen memory skills with a Signs of Spring memory tray. Enjoy reading Bunny’s Book Club by Annie Silvestro. For the home project, make stamped bunnies using cookie cutters, paint, cotton balls, and paper.
