Free Virtual Preschool Videos
Wade into learning with this preschool pond theme video series! These five circle time lessons feature ducks, frogs, fish, worms, and more. Each 30-minute video is led by Ms. Jamie and her puppet Betsy the Blackbird and includes songs, stories, and fun activities inspired by life at the pond. It’s a gentle and playful way to explore nature through music, movement, and imagination.
at the pond
Take a look at real pond photos and talk about what you might see there, from ducks to frogs. Sing “The Ducks in the Pond” while adding new animals to the flannel board. Play an active listening game by guessing which animal is hiding from the clues. Wrap it up with Down by the Cool of the Pool by Tony Mitton and work on a pond mural or collage at home.
duck, duck, goose
We will look at photos of ducks and geese, exploring their feathers and special features that help them live at the pond. Listen to the “Quack and Count” story on the flannel board for some counting fun. Sing “All the Little Ducks” to build oral language skills. Enjoy The Duck Says by Troy Wilson, then add ducks or geese to your pond mural at home.
gone fishing
Time to dive into a fishing-themed adventure. Kids will sing “Bubble, Bubble, Pop!” while naming colors and play the “Let’s Go Fishing” carpet game to practice numbers. Enjoy the read-aloud Piggy and Dad Go Fishing by David Martin. For the home project, add colorful fish to your pond mural to complete the scene.
frogs & toads
Hop into learning with a fun frog and toad theme. Children will count along with “5 Green and Speckled Frogs” using props, sing “Little Green Frog” with extra verses, and play the “Friendly Fly” pocket chart game for number recognition. The story It’s Mine by Leo Lionni rounds out the lesson. For home, kids can add frogs and toads to their pond mural.
mud & worms
Get ready to get messy with a mud and worms theme. Kids will count along with the “Wiggle & Waggle” finger puppet poem, sing the silly “Herman the Worm” song, and play a pond memory tray game to strengthen focus. The book I Can Only Draw Worms by Will Mabbitt brings laughs and learning. At home, children can make their own “Oobleck Mud” for sensory play.
