Free Virtual Preschool Videos
Playing and learning together is as easy as 1-2-3 with this free Preschool Math Masters video series! Enjoy 5 circle time lessons featuring numbers, counting, patterns, time, and more! Each 30-minute video is led by Ms. Jamie and her puppet Betsy the Blackbird and includes stories, songs, and playful activities that help children explore early math skills.
numbers & Counting
This playful lesson is all about numbers! Children will join in with the “Ten Red Apples” rhyming counting poem and sing the Bird chip clip song for extra practice. They’ll work on number order with the “Which number is missing?” game and listen to Bear Counts by Karma Wilson. For the home project, they’ll count pretend cupcakes using liners, pompoms, and tongs for hands-on math fun.
shapes
This lesson dives into the world of shapes with a flannel board retelling of Mouse Shapes to boost comprehension. Kids will sing along to the “Shapes” song for fine motor practice and try 3D shape sorting for hands-on learning. We’ll read Square by Mac Barnett, then go on a shape search at home using paper, markers, and everyday objects.
patterns
Patterns are all around us, from flowers to animals. Kids will look at photos of patterns in nature and create flower patterns on the flannel board. Movement patterns like march, jump, clap, and reach keep things active. We’ll share Beep Beep, Vroom Vroom by Stuart J. Murphy, then try making colorful caterpillar patterns at home with clothespins, pompoms, or cotton balls.
it’s about time
Time is an important concept to explore. Children will recite “Hickory Dickory Dock” and practice clapping along like a cuckoo clock. They’ll play a fun carpet game to spot shapes while hearing the rhyme. We’ll read Just a Minute by Teddy Slater, and at home, try a one-minute challenge using plastic cups and a timer for some hands-on learning.
adding it up!
Math becomes playful with this lesson focused on addition. Kids will recite “I Have 10 Crayons” and “5 Pretty Flowers” poems to practice making sets. They’ll try BINGO with a tens frame and counters to strengthen adding skills. We’ll enjoy What’s New at the Zoo by Suzanne Slade, then do a family portrait math project at home using paper and crayons.
