Emotion books are an excellent tool to begin the discussion about a rather abstract concept. In order for students to handle these big emotions, they need to be able to understand and acknowledge how they feel, as well as describe it. It’s like learning another language! Part of a teacher’s job is to guide students to work through their emotions. These books about emotions help students identify not only how they are feeling, but also what to do with those feelings, and even how to recognize them in others!
