Watch little learners grow with this free preschool Plants video series! This 5-day circle time playlist explores seeds, flowers, trees, and the plants we eat. Each 30-minute video is led by Ms. Jamie and her puppet Betsy the Blackbird and includes stories, songs, and simple activities that bring plant life to the spotlight. A fun way to cultivate curiosity and connect with the natural world.
what is a seed?
Look at photos of seeds and colorful seed packets while learning the ASL sign for “seeds.” Sort pictures into things that grow in soil and things that don’t to practice classifying. Sing the “Seeds” song using real-life props and play a grid game to strengthen logical thinking. Take a close look at real flowers and photos while learning the ASL sign for “flower.” Sing a song about the flower life cycle and test memory skills with a real flower memory tray. Practice number recognition with the “Pretty Flowers” carpet game. Listen to Grow Flower, Grow! by Lisa Bruce, then create beautiful recycled paper flowers at home using magazines, glue, scissors, and paint.

Look closely at real plants and photos while learning the ASL sign for “plant.” Label the different parts of a plant and sing “It’s a Plant” to reinforce new words. Look at real photos of trees and learn the ASL sign for “tree” while talking about what makes them special. Recite the “Two Red Apples” rhyme using felt props and count along with the Five Crunchy Acorns chip clip poem. Sort foods into groups of those that grow on trees and those that don’t.
