This summer we became the proud owners of a brand new Whitney Brothers light table. We have never had a light table in our classroom, so this has been a bit of a (fun) learning curve.
In the past month, we used the light table to work on our names. The students each have a transparency with their names written in permanent marker. They use clear pony beads to trace the letters.
We found these colorful transparent bowls at our local party store. The students have been exploring with them for a week– turning them right side up and upside down. At the end of the week, they experimented with stacking them in a tower. It took a lot of coordination and patience!
