All About Me Counters

Counters are a fantastic, versatile math tool!  I may or may not hoard counters, and was so excited to find this “All About Me Counters” set.
This center was easy to set up.  We added baskets of the counters and I photocopied a house pattern (from Creative Clips) onto 6 matching colors of card stock.
Each color includes 6 family members — a mom, dad, boy, girl, baby and a cat!
There were no instructions at the center.  We just invited the children to play with them.  This student picked out all of the cats and put them in the house.  She called it a “cat house.” Without knowing it, she was practicing important sorting skills!
As she was lining them up I could hear her counting each row.  She was also negotiating with the boy working next to her.  He had some cats in his house, and she wanted them.  They decided to exchange her baby for his cat.  I love my job.

I just ordered these for my preschool in the fall. My 3 year old daughter already loves to play with them, they are adorable. One question though, how many sets do you have. The one I bought only had 36 pieces, it looks like you have way more.

      Hi Michele,
The set that I ordered from Learning Resources had 72 pieces. It is linked above if you want to look at the description.

Oh, I didn’t see that you replied! Thank you. Mine was only half that so I’ll be ordering another one since they are such a hit.

Hi! Thanks for your interest. The graphic does not belong to me. It belongs to Krista Wallden/Creative Clips! Sorry
