This week at the light table we added ice cube trays and a bowl of plastic hearts. (I found them at the craft store in the floral aisle.) That’s it — a simple invitation to play!
Then, he poured them all off. Over and over again. The plastic hearts made a nice sound against the top of the light table, I think!
Once they were all dumped and piled a few times, he decided to place one heart in each cube. I loved that he was counting aloud as he filled them!
Then he filled each of the cubes to complete the pattern.
And, that my friends, is another great example of a child playing to learn!
Have a wonderful day with your kiddos.
